Bad "feature" = bug : Kenmore 12-cup Coffee Maker
Bought this at Sears for $30. Took it home, read manual, am returning. This was being bought for an elderly lady who would (100% chance) call us about the "Freshness Alert" beeps at least every other day. Possibly every time (every 15 minutes!) it went off.
If it was being bought for us, I might, maybe, on a nice day, have tried it out to see just how bad the beeps were. I probably would return it anyhow.
Hint to designers, of any product, make it so the customer can turn off and/or adjust your "bugs" aka "features". This coffee pot has lots of buttons and a LCD display, making a setting for beeps (or volume) along with all the other choices would have been pretty trivial.
I do wonder if Cuisinart did this as sabotage so you would buy their look-a-like, rather than the Kenmore. The reviews of it don't mention over beeping.
